Employed initially as a graduate hardware engineer, I worked on Automatic Test Equipment used to test VCRs for the Tornado aircraft. During hardware/software integration, I learned how to program in Coral 66 and subsequently was able to do some further updates to the software myself.

Using CAD, I designed several circuit boards used in an experimental Millimetric Wave Radar unit. Again, during the software/hardware integration, I was able to learn Ada83 by working closely with experienced software engineers. Following this project, I successfully applied for a software developer position within the company.

Now, as a software developer, I worked on a team where we designed a system for monitoring the stress and fatigue on components of the Harrier aircraft. Coding was in Ada83 and designed using MASCOT.

My final project in Computing Devices was the implementation of a 1553 Bus interface for the Cockpit Audio Management Unit for Eurofighter.

A few years later, I returned to this company to implement updates to the Harrier Fatigue Monitoring project. I also worked for a few months on the Safety Critical Armenant Controller, again for Eurofighter.
